Background

Husband-wife duo Florian Speier and Jessica Pfohl founded Unearthed Paints, a family-owned company manufacturing plant-based paints and coatings. The paint products are biodegradable, non-toxic, odorless, and zero-VOC. Frustrated with the lack of sustainable paint in the commercial market, Speier and Pfohl went on a mission to provide the most sustainable and healthiest paints available in the market.

Unearthed Paints strives to introduce the benefits and capabilities of natural paints in the United States’ market of latex-dominated paints. To do so, it’s important for them to elevate the function and appeal of Unearthed Paints’ natural powdered paint through consumer education.

Approach

The rebranded name “Unearthed Pigments” reflects an elevated brand rejuvenation that is needed to introduce an unfamiliar product into the modern homes of today's families. The minimal and clean application system highlights the brand’s commitment and mission to sustainability. The clean, minimal packaging system feature hints of rich earthy colors to highlight Unearthed Pigments' focus on using raw and minimally processed ingredients.
